Made this for my husband's birthday and he loved it. Used just the good coffee I had on hand, and not the chickory/french roast combo.

The flavor of coffee and chicory was great, especially with the sugar on top. unfortunately, even with the two straining steps the custard was a little eggey and not smooth like a creme brulee should be. I made paula deens and would try to adapt that method with these flavors. tasted great with some shavings of a good dark chocolate bar.

This recipe takes a fair amount of time, but well worth it! (My girlfriend LOVED it! The servings may be a little large and you may want to divide the recipe among 6 or more dishes instead of the 4.
