My family and I loved this recipe! Instead of eating it in bowls like chili, I served it over rice topped with shredded cheese. To go with it I made a salad and fresh, warm tortillas.

This recipe does take some time to go through, but once you've got all of your ingredients in front of you, it's pretty user friendly. I like that there are no beans in this chili, and the recipe lends itself to being very flexible where you can substitute say jalapenos instead of chili peppers etc. The essence portion of the recipe makes about 6 times as much as you need, so it's great to put into a small container to use at a future date or in other recipes for a kick.
    We love this one!!

This recipe was easy & really delicious. I only made the Chili con Carne, not the Chili con Queso, & it was a huge hit. I had a large can of crushed tomatoes in the cupboard, so I substituted that for the smaller can of whole peeled tomatoes. Would highly recommed this.

Excellent. I added Texas chili powder & regular oregano instead of the mexican oregano. Worked very well.
