Ingredients
- 1 cup masa
- 1/4 cup lard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 to 5 tablespoons cold water
Directions
Bring a pot of salted water to a gentle boil.
In a mixing bowl, combine the masa, lard and salt. Mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumb-like mixture. Stir in enough water to form a soft dough. Form the dough into small balls, about 1 tablespoon each. Lightly press your thumb in the center of each ball.
Add the dumplings to the water and cook until the dumplings float to the surface, about 4 minutes. Continue to cook for 2 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt.
