I couldn't believe that anything chocolate with chili would be so good. I'm a baker at a bakery and made this at home. It was so good that i made it for some of our customers as samples, they put orders in the day after.

Like a melt in your mouth brownie. After the first cake, I changed recipe to use semi-sweet chocolate. Reduced the amount of chili by half for the kids in the family. Was much better than the first.

I made this receipe for an employee birthday luncheon (who is from Mexico and it was a big hit. So happy to have something different, authentic and not difficult to make. Its definitely one I will make again.

I've made this twice, and it's great. You can definitely feel the heat from the chili. I couldn't find ancho chili powder in the stores, so I just made my own from ancho chili pods.

My husband and I liked this cake. I tried it because it had no flour. I substituted Splenda for half the sugar since we are doing the Atkins diet to cut down on some carbs. The ancho chili powder gives the cake some character and kind of counters the sweetness. Our children did not like the cake.
