    I hate to give a bad review because I really do love Emeril. This recipe was time consuming and I guess that is why I expected more. It wasn't just down-right horrible but considering the time spent, it was way below par. My husband thought it was too much of a casserole type meal and we were both expecting a Mexican dish. I appreciate the rating system on foodnetwork.com so that we can decide if we want to spend the time and money on preparing the recipe.

    This dish took a lot of work. I thought. It was an ok meal. It wasnt worth all the work that went into it. It just wasnt great. It was ok.

    I was expecting big things from this recipe because Emeril's recipes are usually good and I like casseroles. This was NOT GOOD though. It was time consuming and uses a lot of ingredients and despite all the ingredients there is not a great flavor and it is totally nothing special. I would not waste my time ever making it again.

    I like making a batch of this and splitting into two smaller casserole dishes (there are only two of us in the houseand freezing for a night I don't feel like cooking. It is a reliable recipe and great alternative to typical casseroles.

    I tried this casserole out because my brothers thaught it looked great on tv. So i made it and it tastes amazing right out of the oven with some garlic bread on the side.
