You could use red wine in place of port. But port has a flavor that you'll be missing in the red wine. Good Luck.

The seeds in cranberries are so small you would not be able to strain them out. Just tell this particular family member not to eat the sauce.

I would love to make this recipe but I have a family member how can't have seeds. Do you think I could put this through cheese cloth or would I lose too much flavor? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank You!

This can be made whilst busy with a heap of other dishes and it looks after itself. The port adds a real depth of flavor. Yum.

Made this today and was delightfully surprised at how good it is. I didn't have an orange so substituted blood orange juice which worked fine and for the sugar I used half white and half brown. I will definately make this again. The simplicity and ease are second to none..

We had a potluck Thanksgiving at work 2 years ago and someone brought in the best cranberry sauce I had ever tasted. I don't use canned ever, so that wasn't a factor. This was extra special. Got the recipe, but didn't know it was Emeril's untill I searched on line for it as I had misplaced the recipe and was looking forward to having this again. Everyone loves it.... The port wine adds such a wonderful depth of flavor as someone else mentioned. I can't wait to make it again... It is definitely a tradition in our home! I made no changes and love it.

Wow... I made this sauce and good not believe the wonderful flavor that it had, a perfect blend of sweet and tangy. After making this recipe for my family I was finally able to get them to stop buying the cranberry jelly in a can for Thanksgiving. Now that's something to be thankful for.
