This recipe is spot on, I even added chopped pecans and prepared some chopped candied cherries dusted in confectioners sugar(*so the candied cherries don't clump when stirrd in in advance so when the crucial moment arrived it all stirred in without a hitch... so fluffy.. so light.. melt in your mouth divine.

This recipe is easy and quick, with good tasking Divinity. BUT, I had to add 5 more minutes to the beating time to adjust for humidity. I remembered advice from my Mom that the cook really has to pay attention to how the mixture looks and feels before dropping it, or it will turn out like goop. Don't depend entirely on the time mentioned in the recipe because Divinity can be affected by the humidity in your area. That's what happened because the first two that I dropped were sticky goop. So I continued beating it and raising my mixer to look at how it was thickening on the beaters (I have a KitchenAid mixer. I finally got in the groove when I saw it thicken and lose its stickiness on the beaters. My actual beating time (after adding the Vanilla was double what it is in the recipe....a full 11 minutes. They all came out perfect. I made these with Pecans but prefer Walnuts to offset the ultra sweet taste.

i have the biggest sweet tooth ever and this recipe's perfect for it! the first time i used this recipe was when i was a sophomore in high school! haha! and it came out perfectly fine. it's a lot easier than it sounds. a friend and i bought divinity from a shop in downtown disney because we missed the taste of divinity... and it was good but compared to this recipe it was not so good! i love this recipe.

I have this Divinity for several years now. I never have a problem with it. Of course, you can not make divinity on a rainy day or a very humid day.
