Bud Lime = Good, Sam Adams = Excellent

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
My wife and I love this simple recipe. Few suggestions: 1) Sam Adams is excellent, we like it better than the Bud Lime... suggested 2) Defrost the crab but keep it very cold before using 3) If you keep it really cold use 5 mins, if it warms up a bit, use 4 mins or so.Read more

Huge difference between water steamed and this

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
My son's favorite meal is steamed crab legs. In PA, we tend to get them frozen and, in fact, I steam from the frozen state. ... I had always steamed them in water, but ran across this recipe. Wow, what a difference in flavor. I used Bud Light with lime because previous reviewers had good luck with it, and I wanted to try the Bud Light drink. I didn't taste the lime in the crabs, so next time I'll try the ale, as we usually have that on hand (The Bud Light with Lime was ok, definately drinkable, but I'd frankly rather throw a lime wedge into a bottle of Corona. What can I say, I'm old school). In any case, I'll never steam in water again, if I can help it. And the recipe is so easy to remember. 3 lbs of crab legs, 3 bottles of beer, 3 lemons, and a head of garlic. Read more

I made this for my girlfriend the other night and it was perfect. I used bud light lime instead of pale ale and that is a... winner. I also served with teriyaki steak, and Steamed soy beans. she was pleased and shocked. thank youRead more

    Fantastic

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
My husband and I used this recipe to cook crab legs for the first time. They were better then we could have expected! Very... easy- We suggest just using lemon on them, butter is not a neccesity. We also subsituted Bud Light Lime instead of Pale Ale. Definatly will use this recipe again in the future. Read more
