Delicious! But the easiest way to make dulce de leche is with a slow cooker. Remove the label from the sweetened condensed milk, place in a slow cooker and cover with water, put on the lid, set to low and set timer for 8 hours. I have done this dozens of times.

Made this today for dessert and it was amazing. So creamy and smooth. I made a topping bar with fresh strawberries, pineapple, blueberries, chocolate syrup, whipped cream and maple glazed walnuts. It was a fantastic end to Mother's Day.

Amazing. It is rich, but worth every bite (and calorie. We added some chopped toffee coated peanuts and it added an wonderful extra dimension.

Creamy and lots of caramel taste. Extra nice to add some extra salt to the finished product for a Salt Carmel-like ice cream. I didn't have the full 1.5pint of cream so I substituted in 1 cup of milk. Can't imagine it being richer than it turned out.

I'm not usually compelled to comment on these things but this recipe was actually very easy and fantastic!

The gelato came out perfectly smooth, creamy, and delicious.

We opted for the alternate oven method of prepping the sweetened condensed milk. I had to add extra water to the water bath a time or two but it was no fuss and seemed safer than boiling a sealed can.

This is more work than most ice cream recipes, but it's absolutely worth the extra effort. I cooked the condensed milk in a water bath in the oven, and it worked perfectly. This is the richest, most deeply-flavored ice cream I've ever achieved at home. Thank you, Emeril!

I don't make ice cream often, but this is one recipe that may change that. I used Alton Brown's recipe for the ddl, and Emeril's for the gelato. Great combination!
