Emeril places his own spin on this drink. It's good, not a great drink.
When I first heard the title of this drink when he made it, I thought he was serving a beer that has the same name. I watched him make it and then after a few times I made it without the lime. I can go either way with the lime.
Now, a REAL Presidente has vermouth in it as the previous post indicated. I tried it with the vermouth and did not like it as much.
This is a typical summer drink. I;m sure if you wanted to add other fruit flavors it might have other names. Overall, I would make it again without the vermouth.

This is probably very good, but it is not a Presidente, that is a drink that has been around for many years. Equal parts of Rum and Vermouth and some granadine,

I made this on Valentine's Day. I split the drink with my fiancee since we'd already drank wine and eaten dinner. It was good; the rum is very strong. Next time I'd add more pineapple juice & a bit more grenadine since I like sweet drinks. I also made some ice cubes with a dash of lime juice and grenadine in them for extra color and flavor.
