Read all the other reviews before making this - decided this was the one and it was AWESOME. This salisbury steak had the best flavor - family WOOFED it down. As far as the time it takes to make it - just get an extra pair of hands in the kitchen or it will take forever. If you have one person doing one set of prep, and you do the other, it's not all that bad. It is WELL WORTH the time.

I made only the mashed potatoes, for Thanksgiving, and people were eating the last of the potatoes with their fingers in the bowl. I was impressed and will use this recipe as my new tradition.

It took me four hours. I used lean ground beef for the pork and veal and button mushrooms. Still very, very good! Worth the time and effort!!!!

We loved this! I know it's a hit when the leftovers get fought over, usually they're just ignored in the fridge. The gravy was so good I could have eaten it as soup. (I didn't... but so could have. The cooking time for the steaks was nowhere near as long as it needed to be, so I just popped in a meat thermometer and left it in there til they were done.

Excellent way to impress company! I make a double batch and freeze the patties and then can pull it out and make the gravy and smashed potatos for a quick dinner.
