By far, the best beef stew I've ever eaten. The depth of flavor is unreal and the meat melts in your mouth. Emeril, you're awesome.

I had a lot of leftover (and overcooked, shamefully brisket and I used it instead of the meat in the recipe. I basically started with the vegetables and went from there. Wow. Turned a sad leftover into a week's worth of yummy meals!

Made this for my lunches this week. Best beef stew I have made in quite a while. I substituted some of the beef stock for a good zinfandel and believe it added depth to the stock. As usual the Emeril recipes come out fabulous.

My husband already loves my beef stew but we both really enjoyed this version. Flavor wise this "kick it up a notch" recipe can't be beat. I will add this to my recipe repertoire. This stew is tasteful but gourmet enough that it can be served to any guest.
