This was a pretty good homeade mix. I have made my own for years! Recently I started to by a pre-made mix...I know, they all usually need a lot of help. However there is a new mix out called Irish Dog Blooy Mary Mix. If you don't feel like concocting your own, I suggest trying it.

Tasty! Not too spicy, great layers of flavors with the lime and lemon juice. Yum!

I have made this several times and it's always a big hit. Try using a several different hot sauces...tobasco, sarache and an asian...it gives the mix flavor and heat. Also, I always start with V8 (low sodium if you like as it's a great place to start with all those extra flavors.

I use low-sodium tomato juice and always double the recipe because it keeps in the fridge for a good long time. I substitute celery salt for most of the plain salt. I've tried it both ways and prefer the subtle addtion of cerlery salt that I think puts it over the top. Great as a drink, of course, but perfect for an oyster shooter.

This recipe was the highlight of a recent brunch I hosted. I prepared the mix the night before(I used V8, so all I had to do was set it out in a nice pitcher with a bottle of vodka and the garnishes, which included a bloody mary seasoned rim salt. Many guests had more than one....an excellent recipe.

This is the best bloody mary I've ever tasted. It is good with or without the vodka. It also makes a nice sauce for shrimp, clams and oysters.

I hesitated to add the garlic but it was a key ingredient. Great flavor!

I made this recipe for a New Year's Eve party and everyone was raving about how wonderful it was. Hands down, they all said that it was better than any store bought mix. Instead of garlic though, I used the juice in the bottom of the minced garlic jars. Looking forward to our next Bloody Mary Bar.

I made this for a bridal shower brunch and it was a huge hit! It is very delicious with just enough hot spice. We have our favorite Bloody Mary restaurants but this beats them all.

Easy to do as I had all the ingredients on hand! Love the spicy, rich flavor.
