Very tasty chili recipe! I experienced no problems with it being too soupy, as some others have posted. I used ground chuck in place of the cut meat because I had ground chuck on hand. I used 2 Tablespoons pulverized doritoes instead of the masa, because I could not find the ingredient at my local grocery. It was ready much quicker using the ground meat also. My boyfriend LOVED this recipe! I will make this again.

I enjoyed the chili, but it was not as flavorful as I expected. I did not add the cheese and sour cream as I was trying to cut the calorie level and I used canned tomatoes not fresh but do not believe that would have made a big difference.
NOTE: there is another version of this recipe on this site which calls for 8 cups of broth. That would be way too much.

This recipe is not only SUPER easy but it is so delicious! I made it with 1lb. stew meat and 1lb. ground sirloin, to give it a different texture and loved it, I also added a little brown sugar, garlic powder, and jalapenos while cooking. This is a great recipe for your average chili lover, not too spicy just right.
Thanks Emeril! My go to chili recipe now!

The taste was awesome - I agree with one writer that it was more like a soup than chili. I used fresh tomatoes and crushed them and was wondering if that was the reason. I also added a pound of hamburg with the 3 lbs of stew meat. I think next time I would add a couple of more beans and maybe try with corn.
The tortilla chips on the bottom was great and the dap on sour cream on top of the chesse was OUT OF THIS WORLD.
My Dad was over and said this was the best chili he ever had.
Also, I did this in my crockpot and just added the beans at the last minute so they would not get mushy.

The chili tasted great and was pretty easy to make, but it was more of a soup than actual chili. Anyone else have that issue or did I mess something up somehow?

The taste didn't really justify the dish, not bad, just not great.
