Easy and tasty! I did reduce the broth a bit, like previous reviewers said. Will repeat this one!

My husband has been on me for some time now to make a chili. Well i am glad I did. I followed all the directions until keeping it semi covered for an hour and half. I threw the can of beans in and then threw everything in my crock pot. Kept it on low for 10 hours (thats how long we were out that day and it came out amazing. I added chopped jalapenos and red pepper throwing a few seeds in too. Next time I will add more onion, reduce the broth to 4 cups, and use a little more ground meat ( i had used 1 pound stew meat and 1 pound ground Served with pita, avocado, and sour cream! Will be making a lot more chili!

Tweaked it around a bit. A lot less broth and more spices to my liking. Very delicious. I also made cheddar and jalepeno biscuits along with the chili and it was AMAZING. I got the recipe for the biscuits here. Just type in cheddar biscuits and it will come up as cheddar and scallion biscuits. I just decided to switch out the scallions with jalapenos since i like the heat. This recipe will definitely impress.

I agree with everyone, 8 cups is too much broth. I used 32 oz in a half, and it was perfect. The only reason I used that much is because my largest pan would not hold anymore. It was a big hit! Very easy!

I loved the balance of seasonings; and, I added just a bit of cinnamon for an additional layer of spice flavor. Even with the lid offset while simmering, 4 cups of broth is way sufficient. I might even up the amount of meat to 3 pounds. I liked the idea of using both ground beef and stew beef; and, any combination of beans and corn are fabulous. I've become very reliant on reading these reviews before jumping into a new recipe. Thanks fellow FoodNetwork junkies!!

The flavor of this chili is good, but 8 cups of broth is to much. I used 3 tablespoons of massa harina and it still wasn't thick enough. I will make this again, but with less broth.

I've never made chili before and found that this was easy to make. I used ground turkey instead of stew meat, added a can of black beans, used about half the stock and an entire 6oz can of tomato paste for really thick chili. I actually didn't add the slurry because it was already thick enough. It was a hit! Will definately make it again!
