This pie was delicious and its not too difficult to make. To say the least, I'm 19 years old and I made this for my family late afternoon yesterday and it's not even 24 hours later and it's gone. It was delicious. The only thing I would say is maybe throw in some toffee or something to just give it extra flavor and crunch but it's great. I will definately be making this for my family again, mostly because everyone ate it before my brother got a piece.

I also made this according to the recipe but increased the amount of chocolate to 5 1/2 oz or so. I also used an even cup of sugar. I didn't bother crushing the oreos from scratch - I just bought the pre-made Oreo pie crust. It was absolutely incredible! Something about the buttermilk provides the perfect balance to the rich sweet chocolate. Yum!

I made this according to the recipe except I also threw in a handful of bittersweet chocolate chips and used a regular homemade crust. The first bite was *incredibly* good, and it was even better the next day. I will definitely make this again.

This is a great chocolate pie. It was also very easy to make (I used a store bough graham cracker crust to cut down on the time. However, it's VERY rich. If you're looking for a light dessert, this is not the one to make. But if you're looking for something to indulge in, this is perfect.

I review a lot of recipes on this website, and I never give anything 5 stars. And I don't like sweets! But my daughter asked me to make this pie, and I absolutely loved it. We didn't waste any time with cookies, we made an ordinary pie crust (Alton's recipe. Everything went exactly as laid out in the recipe; it was easy to make. I normally eat about one slice of pie a year, and I ate 3 slices in one week. Try it (with a regular, not a cookie, crust. You won't be disappointed.

I hate to be the one to give this a bad rating, but it wasn't all that great. First, the ratio for the graham cracker and oreo crumbs to butter wasn't correct. The crust was falling apart and had no structure and really could have either called for less crumbs or more butter. Secondly, I put the crust in the oven and it burned! I followed the 15 minute instruction, but I would suggest a few less minutes. Thirdly, don't stir the milk mixture on the stove occasionally, keep an eye on it and stir it constantly! Mine scorched a bit and it made the milk a bit clumpy (with the burnt goop from the bottom of the pan. I did add more chocolate to cover up any not so yummy milk tastes (the buttermilk stinks when it is on the stove. Overall, it was ok. My fiance liked it, because he likes most things. But, to me...it was alright. But, nothing I will ever be making again :-(
