    I lost my old eggnog recipie, and it took me three holiday seasons and many, many recipies to find a replacement. This eggnog is heavenly! I HATE store-bought eggnog; reminds me of Pepto-Bismol. This one is creamy and custard-y. I don't usually whip cream, I just pour it in. However, use the whipped cream if you really want to make a presentation. Thank goodness I finally found an eggnog ! I have made several copies of this recipie and stored it in several safe places (electronically and on paper just to be sure this time.

    I made this for Christmas and its better to prepare this the day before you serve it. After making it, it takes a long time to cool completely unless you divid it up. I didn't think it tasted good warm. And you may want to strain it more then once to make sure the lumps are out if you get any. I divided the batch I made for two different gatherings and it needed to be strained. It was better once it cooled though. Needs some alcohol this year.

    The taste was dreamy - but it was lumpy. I followed instructions to a tee and dont know what I did wrong. I'm going back to store bought.

    This eggnog is very good. I substituted white rum for the bourbon, and Grand Marnier for the brandy, and the liquor combination worked really well. The drink was equally as good warm (when first made as cold. Once chilled, it thickens quite a bit (like a pudding that hasn't quite set. If you would rather drink your eggnog than spoon it from the glass, I would suggest eliminating folding in any whipped cream (still fold in the beaten egg whites. Very good, and I'll definitely make this again!

    I tried this & I have to tell you this is the best eggnog I have ever tasted!!! Smooth & with a kick!! Thanx Emeril I have a feeling this will be made here at my house for years to come!!
