5 stars for the filling, 3 stars for the crust. The filling was lovely, rich and decadent - definitely worth 5 minutes of constant stirring! As for the crust... as other reviewers have said, the quantity seems excessive. The crust wasn't especially tasty, though cutting out the oreo centers and whizzing up the graham crackers and oreos took some work.
I might make this again with a storebought Oreo crust. I would also increase the filling quantity by 33-50% and use dark chocolate instead of semisweet.

Rich and delicious. This is a cross between a rich and intensely chocolatey french silk and a chocolate cream pie. The buttermilk gives it that slight tang you find in a french silk, but the consistency is more like a very thick cream/ pudding pie. I certainly have never had a chocolate pie with such fabulous chocolate flavor and I've made and tasted many.

I find this pie to have an odd glossy, transparent look to it. Too much cornstarch I think. Looks like it could be made with Chocolate Jello pudding, but darker. I would prefer it to have more dairy. I haven't served it yet w/ the whipped cream, but at this point, I wish I had looked further for another recipe. Interesting that is has received all five star ratings so far. I will report back if the family review are different after Thanksgiving.

This was the best chocolate pie I think I have ever tasted! It was very simple and easy to make, and it turned out delicious. I would check on it as it chilled, and would find my brother's finger swipes from where he had sampled the pie. My dad couldn't help but even call me when I was shopping and tell me he couldn't resist having another slice for breakfast and an afternoon snack. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to make a fabulous impression on others or even themselves!
I used a reg. store bought oreo pie crust, and miracle whip as the topping. I couldn't find the Hawiian chocolate, so I just used the baker's semi-Sweet chocolate. Turned out better than I thought it would.

This pie is soooo good. It is the best. My husband asks for it every week! I used a regular store bought cookie crust and it works great. Don't forget the whip cream!

assembling this pie is very quick and if you buy a pre-made oreo crust, it makes it even quicker. i thought this was one of the best chocolate pies ever.
i expect no less from all the fattening ingredients! oh, who cares! it's delicious!

Awesome dessert! Easy to make, and everyone raved about it. Followed recipe exactly, it is a lot of crust, but that is what makes it different and delicious!

Wow, this pie was VERY easy to make, however, I think that I would have used less chocolate. It was VERY chocolatey. What a great easy recipe!

This pie was very good, but there were definitely too many crumbs for the crust. The recipe says they compress with pressure, but if you are using a regular 9 inch pie pan, omit at least a 1/2 cup of the crumbs. The filling was outstanding.
