My first Kugel and it turned out to be the best all my friends have ever had...Too much topping for my liking, though...Next time I won't put it all on...Other than that it was perfect...Thanks

This was a very good, light kugel. It did not sit heavy in your stomach after eating it. It's very versatile, so different ingredients may be added based on your liking. It's perfect for a quick breakfast and easily frozen.

This is a very good basic recipe that can be played with allot. For those of you who want less fat, you will find fat free vanilla yogurt is a great substitute for the sour cream, vanilla and some of the sugar. Then play around with the flavorings. If you do not like pecans, use pineapple mixed through the custard. Or for a real treat, substitute pumpkin with pie spice to the mix. It comes out like pumpkin cheesecake kugel. Also if you do not like the texture of cottage cheese in the kugel, mix all the wet ingredients in the blender. You get a very smooth custard with a cheesecake flavor.

The noodle part is soooo good!! I did change the topping, and like it much better. After making the noodle portion, I cover it and put it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.(If you skip this step, the topping will not stay on top. Then I spread apricot smuckers jam over the whole thing. I take sugar and cinnamon, and mix it in a bowl until light brown. This gets sprinkled on top of the jam... DELICIOUS!!

For about 5 years now, I've been making this kugel for Yom Kippur break-the-fast. It is so easy and everyone loves it. Last year I even managed to add raisins to half the pan. It reheats well too. Highly recommend!

I married into a jewish family and my husband always spoke about a dairy based kugel his Grandmother use to make. He said this was the best and closest tasting to what she did. Thank you very much.

This kugel is very good. My husband says its the best he's ever had. Granted he prefers things on the sweet side - and it is sweet. Just reduce the amount of sugar on top to 1/2 cup if you perfer a less sweet kugel. I've made this many times and will again!

This is the only recipe I have tried when making my own kugel. you can't go wrong with the brown sugar & pecans. Great for the Jewish holidays or brunch. It is so easy to make and everyone raves about it. Heats up well the next day. My grandmother is probably offended that I will be passing this recipe down to my daughters instead of hers. A definite must try!!!
