    Emeril's kugel recipe is perfect, except for one small detail: The recipe calls for an entire cup of brown sugar sprinkled on top, but this is far too much and it makes the kugel too sweet. Half a cup of brown sugar mixed with cinnamon is more than enough.

    I received so many compliments on this kugel that I hated to admit that it was Emeril's recipie and not mine. I made it for a reception at which I was on more than one occaision introduced as "the one who brought the kugel."
