Based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I gave this a try. I should have known better than to make a new recipe for company, but I thought it sounded great. Like a few of the other reviewers, I found this lasagna so salty that we almost couldn't eat it. I was also embarrassed that I made such a salty dish for company. I even cut down the amount of salt in the recipe, but I think the romano is much too strong and overwhelms the other flavors.

If you want to really impress your friends and guest, definitely make this lasagna. Its pretty expensive because of the cheeses, but its so worth it. I rationalized spending almost a wopping $100 on my ingredients because there was so much food (about 15 servings that I didn't have to buy lunch or dinner for almost a week. And not to mention the bragging rights amongst my friends for making a great lasagna. This was my first time making lasagna and the directions were very clear and easy. The only things I changed were that I cooked the noodles for a couple minutes to soften them a little and I didn't add one grain of salt and it still came out with flavor and not overly salty like the many reviews I read. And I used regular beef broth and not the low-sodium. I would recommend this recipe to everyone...just save it for those special occassions unless you can afford $100 lasagna.

Took a good amount of time, but most definitely worth it. Everyone that ate it claimed it was the best they had ever eaten. Highly recommend.

This should be your secret super recipe when having guests over or when bringing over for dinner. It is amazing, delicious and fantastic. better than a restaurant any day! And, so so easy. The greated cheese is the key to this recipes pefectionn. I have tried it with shreaded cheese and it just doesn't taste the same. The flavors are not there. The smaller particles of the greated cheese allow all of the cheeses to melt properly, together for one delicious flavor instead of tasting each individual cheese. I have eaten alot of lasagne and this is by far the best (including those small Mom and Pop Italian Restaurants. Keep in mind this is a HUGE lasagne so it could serve a family of 4 for about 2 days.

I have been making this lasagna for years. It is the best recipe because it has plenty of sauce and the lasagna doesn't dry out like some other recipes. I use the sauce recipe by itself as well. The mixture of meats and 4 cheeses makes this lasagna decadent and delicious.

Before I make this expensive dish, I just have a question to those who have made this in the past. Do I really use raw noodles?
