This is some good fudge. Because of some previous comments, I cut the sugar by 1/2 cup and added about 2 more (heaping tablespoons of peanut butter and it turned out great. Maybe it's because I used less sugar, but I wouldn't call it grainy at all. Nice and smooth. Also, it looks a little greasy when you put it in the pan. Don't worry. It sets up well and that shininess goes away. I should also mention - when I tasted the warm globs straight from the saucepan, the peanut taste was a little strong and almost tasted burnt. After letting it set overnight, that went away. Try it!

I am an unknown fudge connoisseur of sorts. I have made fudge for 35 years, and have requests for my fudge, and had to ship it (to family and friends only to Germany, New England, and Montana. Peanut butter fudge in particular.
I tried this recipe today except being a Vermonter, I switched out the corn syrup or Karo for pure Vermont Maple Syrup. YES indeed, the flavor came through.
My daughter is here from Deleware and wants to take it home early to save me postage mailing it this year. So instead of my normal recipe I made this one and it is the best. Now for a search for a good Chocolate one so I can do my half and halfs, peanut butter layer and chocolate layer combination fudge. Thanks for sharing this most wonderful recipe. Charley G

I have made this fudge for years now and it is AMAZING!!! I have never found a fudge recipe that is so creamy and rich. If it turns out grainy or dry it's not this recipe. I have learned to go slow...give the sugar time to melt and after I have it to the soft ball stage I incorporate my Peanut Butter, Vanilla, and Marshmellow cream in my stand mixer then let it beat until it cools off. THIS REALLY IS THE BEST FUDGE THERE IS!!!!

This fudge is fantastic! Everyone raves over it, and I come from a long line of peanut butter fudge fanatics. If your lookng for a peanut butter fudge that melts in your mouth, this is it!

I've shared this recipe with MANY others since first making 2 years ago for the cookie/candy samplers that I give away to friends and family during the holidays.

I just follow the directions exactly as they are and it turns out flawless every time. I hate to admit it, but it's better than my grandmother used to make, God rest her soul.

My friend and I made this fudge for Christmas for our workplace. Neither of us had ever tried fudge before, but this was super easy and tasted absolutely fantastic... it was soft and melts in your mouth! We constantly stirred it and used a low-medium heat and it came out great, highly recommended!
