Very simple recipe that makes a big impact on the Thanksgiving table. Went well on the turkey, the apple pie, and was great just folded into fresh whipped cream.

(The yield is wrong. Obviously this recipe won't yield 5 cups given just 6 ounces of cranberries and 1 1/4 cups of liquid. You'll get about 2 cups.

This was the first time I ever tried making fresh Cranberries and it was the rave of the night.

No one should ever buy a canned cranberry sauce, when this is so easy and delicious. Make it a day ahead, to make it even easier on the holiday! I don't even like cranberries and found it great.

First of all let me say, all of my life I have not been a fan of cranberries at thanksgiving. Not fresh, not frozen not in the can. However, I was charged this year with preparing the cranberries for the Thanksgiving luncheon at work. I used this recipe and received RAVE reviews from seasoned cranberry fans. I tried just a taste and I have to say...Not bad! Thanks for a great cranberry compote Emeril

I made this for Thanksgiving last year. It was a hit. Tangy and sweet. It was great on turkey sandwiches the day after, too! And it's not hard to make, either.

The recipe is not correct. Supposedly it needs 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. It tells us to put the 1 tablespoon full in the orange juice but never tells us what to do with the rest of it.

Someone needs to go back to the cook book and find out what's wrong.

I made this at my Christmas dinner last year. I used fresh cranberries from a bog I visited in Mass. in the fall. And replaced sugar with Splenda. It was very easy to make. It does take alot more sugar than you think. The next time I would find a way to take out the peels of the cranberries. Over all it was very good, everyone enjoyed it.
