Way too thin to be called a milkshake. I would not repeat this recipe again. However, if it were thicker, it would have tasted great.

I just made these... I would say if you're using a pint of ice cream, use 1/4c milk and add a more as needed.

I should of read the reviews before I made this but I was excited about my strawberry milkshake. Anyways, dont use the vanilla extract, it made it taste like vanilla cookies and you could taste the strawberries at all.

I tried this recipe today so that i can have something to help down my protein powder, and this milkshake was EXCELLENT! you can really taste the strawberry what made it taste a little better was that i added like 1 cup of strawberry yogurt and that enhanced the taste and texture.

Eyeballed the strawberry measure. Used the exact amount of extract. I did over power mildy. I would suggest using a 1/2 teaspoon instead of a whole. Eyeballed the ice cream measure (had a gallon on hand. Used 7 heaping scoops. We drink 1% milk so I used that type. I prefer shakes to be more frothy. If the fruit was frozen too, I believe that texture could have been achieved. The maceration of the strawberries is a technique I will use in my other strawbery shake recipe. So I will end up meshing the two together.

i tried this recipe today, it was good but it wasn''t as good as the strawberry milkshakes i usually make. the vanilla extract kind of threw me off, i've never used vanilla or any type of extract in a milkshake before...it made the milkshake taste artificial. the milkshake was good and simple but i expected better.

Great strawberry milkshake recipe! I think macerating the strawberry is the key. The first time I made it and followed the recipe exactly, the taste of the milkshake called for a "Bam!". My kids who never like my homemade milkshake before would ask for milkshake now whenever we have strawberry in the house. This recipe is a keeper for us. Thank you, Emeril!

I made this tonight for my kids. I didn't wait on the strawberries for 20 minutes, I just threw all the ingredients into a mixer and added a very ice cubes to make it a little thicker. Came out great. Very yummy.
