Worth the time! Most of the steps can be done ahead of time then just fry/bake the pies right before you want to serve. The apple filling is great to make turnovers too- just use puff pastry instead of pie dough and bake them.

These are the best fried pies! Made them last night along with Emeril's Sweet Potato and Andouille Sausage soup for a blast of autumn. Big hit!

Wonderful! Rich! Not difficult. A bit Time consuming. I did change the apple Caramel a bit. I used White and Brown sugar. And I added 1/4 cup Wild Turkey. Wow!.. I think next time I will add some dark raisins too. WOW!

Delicious and simple! I baked the pies and used ice cream from my favorite store and pie dough from the store. Everything else was relly simple to make. My boyfriend LOVED IT!
