Best fried chicken I've ever had. The key is to marinate the chicken AT LEAST 24 hours. This makes all the difference in the world. I'll never make fried chicken with another recipe after having this. PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT Thank Emeril!

Hands down, the BEST fried chicken I ever ate! It was really easy to make. My mom ate some and was jealous that I made something better than she did!

I think the buttermilk that made the chicken so tender. I'm NOT a great cook but can follow directions. I used chicken breasts and they didn't need 8 min. on each side to be done. That said, they're really really tasty!
I also made the mashed potatoes using only a fork (don't have a hand masher and they're just fine (who knew? . I added the cheese thinking it would bump it up a notch but I think next time I'll leave that out. Many will love it, I'm sure, just an overkill for me & I LOVE mashed potatoes (with butter, salt & pepper.
This was easy to follow using Emeril's ready made spices (Essence found in my local supermarket and I even enjoyed the process. Hope you do too. Just remember to soak those chickies for awhile & let all that good flavor tenderize and flavor them up nicely.

This recipe sounds perfect, and reviews certainly support that! Rather than using a frying pan with thermometer, could the frying be done in a deep fryer? Time adjustment, if it can be done?

The crust is delicious, the meat is moist, the seasoning spot on. Had this with the corn in aluminum foil & it was the best. This is a new favorite that is bound to become an old favorite!

I couldn't believe something so good came from my kitchen. Extremely easy to make. I let the chicken marinate over night. Best fried chicken!

The outside batter of the chicken is amazing. I made this dish for a fast dinner party and everybody loved them a long with the mashed potatoes. Cheezy broccoli also goes great! The chicken cooked in no time and leaves everybody stuffed with no food left on the dinner table. Highly recommended for a quick party.
