So grateful for the input on leaving the 2" border! It worked out perfectly.

Loved this recipe! I made it for my daughter's 10th and it was a big hit.

Notes: I used a dark pizza pan so I had to decrease the oven temp to 350, and follwed the advice and left a 2" border and it was perfect.
    Thanks Emeril!

I usually don't review, but I felt compelled. My daughters and I made this for my birthday, decorated with icings and sprinkles - it was the best birthday cake I've ever had. Even though I read the other reviews that warned to leave a 2 inch border and I knew they were right, I still only left about 1 inch, and it did ooze over (luckily I had at least thought to put another tray underneath. So heed that warning. Didn't matter, though. Still fantastic!

Tried this recipe out, and it was quite delicious! A couple of things to point out:

    - I didn't use two sticks of butter, seemed like a bit too much. I used 1 and a half, but I think it would work with even less.

    - I baked it in a deep glass dish - not a good idea. The cake rose a lot more than I expected, and resulted in the middle sinking in. The centre was almost slightly undercooked. Next time, I will definitely try a wider and flatter pan.

    - Even after a week it was delicious - I heated it up and served it with cold ice cream. Mmmm.

I would recommend trying this recipe, especially if you're looking for something simple like chocolate chip cookies in a cake form (for someone's birthday!.

I made this for my daughter's birthday yesterday. We took it (still warm to one of our favorite restaurants and shared some with a couple of the waiters. Soon, one of the owners of this very popular 6-location chain was at our table for a sample. He took a piece to the kitchen, poured himself a glass of milk and came straight back and said it was best cookie cake he'd ever tasted.

I did the "deep dish" style. Don't have a huge cookie sheet, so I put parchment paper in a 9 x 13 glass cake dish. I took it out at 15 minutes, but after letting it cool for 10 minutes, I decided to bake it some more. So I put it back in for another 4 or 5 minutes, which worked out great.

Just had another bite, and my only feedback is that there may be a tad too much chocolate in it : That may not be a problem for most people.

We made this for my son's 2nd birthday cake, since he is a big Cookie Monster fan. The kids thought it was really funny and all of us thought it tasted amazing. Great presentation, great taste. Thanks Emeril!
