I made this for Thanksgiving and it was gone in a flash, with many asking for the recipe. It was simple to make and the chocolate on top was a great addition, if you really love chocolate. I kept mine refrigerated until an hour before serving and the chocolate on top was like a thick chocolate crust. Yum!

This recipe was amazing; the pie was gone in a day. I didn't use the gold leaf portion or whipped cream for garnish. I covered one side of my pie with the chocolate sauce and left the other side plain. Both were outstanding, but if you're a chocolate lover, put the sauce on top. The side I put sauce on tended to be a little softer than the other side. I will be making this recipe often.
