Being a Floridian, I am well versed in cooking seafood. That being said, looking for something new. Bit off more than I could chew with two toddlers alone after a long day at work, but SO glad I did! Made a bit of a change... added a bit of white wine to the sauce when cooking since I felt it needed "something". AMAZING, and seasoning is just perfection. I find sometimes following the seasoning exactly in a recipe does nothing spectacular, and I am adding (or subtracting things to taste. Other than the addition of the white wine, really follow this. You can taste every element in the sauce. Just love. For me, sometimes Emeril has been a hit or miss, but this is a very big hit out of the park. Next time I will attempt it on a weekend, but if you want to impress for a covered dish party, don't hesitate.

I have always wanted to try a Shrimp au Gratin recipe, and decided to give this one a go. It was FANFLIPPINGTASTIC!! It has become my families (and my neighbors favorite shrimp dish. I made it several times while my collage son was home for summer break these past 3 weeks, and he would have ate it every day if he could. Give this a go, you won't be sorry.

Best shrimp recipe ever! We serve it with a hearty bread and a salad for a main course, or with bread as an appetizer. Delicious!

Out of this world good. Great company dish b/c it can be assembled ahead of time in individual baking dishes and just popped into the oven when you want. It makes the most delish, oozey base that is so decadent and yummy.

This recipe was soooo good! I used old bay seasoning instead of the Essence, I also made it in individual ramekins and they came out great!

Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning instead of Essence.
    Onion instead of shallots.
    Wonder flour.
half and half instead of heavy cream.
    Costco coastal cheddar.
    Panko bread crumbs.
Most substitution because I did not have what the recipie called for.
    Still was very good.

Thanks Food network for the Essense recipe,,Saves the riduculous price he gets for his spices, pre made. in the grocery store. Not a huge Emeril fan but this recipe is delicious and simple to make..

Easy to make and tastes awesome. The white pepper makes it a bit spicy, so I make a smaller batch without it for the kids.
