    I have never made gumbo or even made a rue before. I love Emeril's Mardi Gras Jambalya and have made it several times to much acclaim from family and friends. So I thought I would give the gumbo a try. Wow, was it good. The family loved it. I must say, making the rue was quite a process. We had to stir while cooking for about 45 minutes to get the correct color, but, I was well pleased with the results.

    Emeril's gumbo is simple, yet perfect. As a New Orleans girl, I know gumbo and love this one. You won't go wrong with this recipe!
