I have been making this recipe for years now and it's always a hit. It's delicious and so easy! Like others I substituted a good dark chocolate bar instead of the Hawaiian one.

WOW! I had been trying to recreate a chocolate chess pie I used to get at a local bakery in the 70's. This is exactly what I was looking for. This recipe may even be better! It was gone it minutes at my house (family of 5. If you love chocolate, you will love this recipe. Try it!

This is one of my favorite pies to bring to potlucks and parties. So many people have never tried a chess pie, let alone a chocolate one and it is always a big hit! Super simple and delicious!

This recipe was so easy to make! I used a frozen pie crust (yep, sacrilege, I know, but I didn't feel like making my own crust and the preparation was SO easy! I used 60% Ghirardelli dark chocolate instead of the Hawaiian Vintage and it was really good. I used the microwave to melt both the butter and the chocolate and put a pie crust shield over the crust for the first 45 minutes. I felt like I was in the kitchen for about five minutes and then put the pie in the oven and walked away! Thanks Emeril! You put the BAM in SHA-BAM!

I have been making this recipes for several years now at T-Day. Out of all the desserts that are there (usually 6-7 different desserts this one gets eaten the quickest. The corn meal makes such a light and delicate top crust, my family loves to pick it off and eat it before eating the rest of the pie.

    I LOVE THIS RECIPE!!!
