Absolutely the BEST garlic bread ever!! I have made it for high school and college athletic team spaghetti dinners and it's always a winner! I keep the butter made up at all times in my fridge, and for a healthier option, when I'm not cooking for a group, I spread it on my whole wheat bread and pop it in the toaster oven for a couple of minutes for the same fresh taste without heating up the whole house. I also put this butter on my baked potatoes, in mashed potatoes, on cooked vegetables - very versatile!
My only wish is that Food Network would add "Garlic" to the keywords so it would be easier to find instead of "Gaaahlic".

10 STARS! Have been making this for years, just decided to write a review. I make this whenever I take meals to people and they ALWAYS ask for the recipe. Sometimes I omit the cayenne when making it for others. At home, I make half the loaf as is but half with shredded sharp cheddar cheese. My 3 boys always ask, "When are you going to make some more of that Yummy Bread?"

This was a very good garlic bread recipe. It reminds me of something that you would get in a restaurant.
I used less butter and oil, and more garlic and cheese. I still thought it was too much of a EVOO taste so I will reduce that amount a little more next time.
Great recipe and I will be making it again!

This recipe earns a permanent place in my cookbook. It's so simple and so fabulous. Instead of using the "Essence" recipe, I used Emeril's "Original Essence" seasoning that you can find at most any supermarket. I also used salted butter and omitted the extra salt. The recipe was buttery and delicious. I swear my husband ate like four pieces of bread at dinner!

I substituted Smart Beat margarine that already contains olive oil. It melted perfectly into the soft bread and left the parmesan cheese, parsley and garlic on the top. Yum-o!
