I love avocado's and think Emeril is great however this recipe is not that good. Only one person at the party thought it was good and the rest of us were not impressed. It wasn't horrible but most certainly not tasty.
No disrespect..... this is only my opinion and those at my dinner party.

In laws and husband loved it. I'm not that big an avocado fan so it was just good. The lime crema is a must. To the other reviewer, how dare you suggest nondairy coffee creamer! You call yourself a cook? Gack!

This recipe was easy to make and it makes just enough for an appetizer for 3-4 guests or more of a meal with salad/sandwich for 2 people. I've added this soup to my recipe box!

We made this as a side dish for a Caribbean Dinner Party that we were invited to and we received nothing but positive comments about it. People were pleasantly surprised. The flavor was really nice. We used 8 small avacados since we weren't able to get any ripe large ones and that seemed to be the right amount. I would definitely make it again.

I love to try new recipes. When I first made this soup and tasted it (while still warm, I was very concerned about how my guests would receive it. It seemed bland. However, after chilling and adding the lime cream, it was a hit. My guests and I loved it. Being a vegetarian, I used vegetable stock rather than chicken stock, but no one noticed a lack of flavor.

My husband and I served this before a jerk chicken dish, and it was wonderful. However, it was quite rich - so next time I may try non dairy coffee creamer or fat free half and half instead.

I wouldn't have thought this would be good, but it is very tasty. Another way to use avocados and have something coolready for a lunch from last night. Tasty ginger/avocado combo. I used veggie broth.

I took this chilled soup to a BBQ and it was SMASH. Everyone agreed that the lime creme was an excellent garnish (and to think I almost didn't make it!!. Cool, unique flavor and very refreshing. I definitely recommend this soup for any summer outing.

Terrific chilled soup just in time for Spring and Summer! However, the recipe calls for 4 teaspoons of lime juice in the soup (as opposed to the two called for in the lime crema. When do we add the 4 teaspoons? Recipe doesn't say. I stirred it into the soup before putting in the fridge to chill. Should I have put it in while 'pureeing'?
