I love pear and blue cheese salads and have been looking for the perfect dressing. The vinaigrettes that I have used seem a little too acidic. The walnut oil is a wonderful complement to the sweetness of the pears. This recipe makes a huge salad, so we typically cut back on the amount of fruit and lettuce. We typically make the dressing as written in the recipe knowing that we can use it over a few days worth of meals.

Great recipe that I always use for holidays- however I never can find rice wine vinegar so I substitute white wine vinegar and still get great reviews!

I have searched endlessly to find the perfect dressing for a pear and blue cheese salad. This is it! The combination of rice wine vinegar, walnut oil and honey compliments the tang of the blue cheese like no other Italian-based vinagrette possibly could. Bravo!

II made this recipe last night for a dinner party, and wow, what a flavorful salad. The dressing was perfectly balanced with the flavors of the fresh pears, blue cheese and walnuts. I think I probably used more of the baby greens than called for, and because I like a salad to be lightly coated and not drenched in dressing, I kept it separate, adding the dressing a little at a time to get the right amount. I'm glad I did this since I ended up with leftover dressing. Otherwise, I think there would have been too much dressing for the amount on the salad greens. I will definitely make this salad again, especially when entertaining since it has great eye appeal as well.

I love the combination of the cheese, pears and nuts. I also have added dried cranberrys to this salad. I make this salad all the time and it always gets great reviews

Wanted to try this but only had canned pear slices in lite syrup, feta cheese and Romain lettuce....sooo I made it anyway and it was delish...The dressing makes it. I hated to see that last bite! Can't wait to try the original recipe.

I have to say that this is my favorite salad. The sweet, sour, and salty really makes your taste buds asking for more. This salad is great with any kind of meat.

Delicious! My friend served this on Christmas Day with a beef tenderloin and mashed potatoes. It was so well received I decided to make it today for my family. Easy to make and very tasty.
