The sauce was absolutely amazing (will definitely do again but the pudding itself was kind of so-so.

This recipe is really mislabeled, it's not medium but really easy! Use quality melted vanilla ice cream for the Anglaise sauce, like Haagen Daaz!

Even having to make a few substitutions and omissions (no vanilla OR nutmeg in my cupboard, the bread pudding turned out beautifully. The sauce was a little rummy for my taste though, I definitely recommend adding the rum slowly to taste.

This was very easy to make. However, The Rum in the Creme Anglaise was a bit over powering and took away from the other flavors.

I bought the Delmonico cook book when it came out. My son David made the bread pudding for desert at a family Thanksgiving dinner. Was a big hit. One member couldn't eat it because she is alergic to pineapple. But everyone else loved it.

Basic structure with intersting ingriedients for a great twist on an old dish.
