I did not make the dipping sauce...the kids were hungry/in a hurry so I did the dogs only. They were not so sure they were going to like those spices they saw me dumping into the corndog mix but admitted they were wrong and they were pretty good. I used the mini cocktail weiners that I had on hand so I certainly did not have to problem of them not cooking through. I used my frydaddy at 375.

I've made this twice now. Once for a crowd and once for my family. Very good both times. To the person who complained that the dogs were cold and wasted...Too much batter and oil too hot!! I tried it with the batter thick and thinned a bit and the dogs are better when the batter is not too stiff.

I am shocked that this recipe got 4-5 stars.....I bought the best dogs at my meat market just to make these...they sounded soooo good. I have Tivo, and I reviewed the recipe 4 times, just to see the consistency, and to make sure I had the recipe right...I repeated it, and to my dismay.....I AM MAD THAT I WASTED THE MONEY!!!! The flavor was not good, the hot dogs were cold, the coating was sooo not good..and please dont say that my oil was too hot, it was not, I tested it..I will never make Emeril's recipes again!! I am sick and tired of seeing things that I want to make because of his shows!!!!!!! I have 2 of his books, and I lived in Louisiana, I should have known....the only reason he has so many shows is because he can "schmooze the audience" and they pay for tickets, so why not smile. GROSS, AND I WILL GIVE MY EMERIL COOKBOOKS AWAY FOR FREE

Oh my gosh!! these are SOOOO GOOOD!!, I prefer to use Pepper jack and mozarella cheese pieces instead, and also a few with the best quality hot dogs I can get,(deli styleMMMM..they just melt in your mouth!, so much flavor, it's amazing! I use simple ketchup for dipping for a quick easy dinner. We have made this recipe over 6 times now in a period of two months!! It has become a staple in our table..The ingredients are sure to be found in my pantry at any given time!! No more paying for expensive cheese sticks at the mall!! I wish I could print the recipe and give it to all those people there paying $2.50 a piece!! this recipe it's worth dozens for pennies!! and it's much better tasting and a lot fancier!

These were quick and easy to make. For variety, we also dipped cheese sticks in the batter and deep fried those....they were just a good as the corn dogs.

The genious extends to simplest foods. The batter is layered with so many interesting flavors. What's great is that you can choose the hot dogs. The green onion sause is off the wall!!

I took bun length weiners and cut them into thirds and made these for an office party. They were instantly inhaled!!!
