You can create up to five timers

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • Salt and white pepper
  • 2 cups grated Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups grated White Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup ham, diced
  • 2 pound bag of tater tots, thawed

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 by 9 by 2-inch square baking dish with the butter. In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together. Season the mixture with salt and pepper. Add 1 cup of the Cheddar cheese, 1 cup of the White Cheddar cheese, the ham and the tater tots. Mix the mixture thoroughly. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and sprinkle the top with the remaining cheese. Place in the oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is brown.

    I think theres some sort of disconnect here. That is -- Why is the recipe called 'Kicked-Up Mac and Cheese' when #1 it does not have any MAC in it only Tater Tots?? and #2 there's no kick? I would not call an unidentified amount of white pepper and salt kicked-up. I don't even think this is Emerils recipe. I didn't think it was worth cooking.

    Gosh I hate to post two bad ratings in a row..but yesterday we made this receipe plus Emerils Easy Oven Ribs.

    This Mac and Cheese recipe was nothing extrordinary.
    I would suggest cutting the time in half for boiling of noodles.
    They were mushy after 10 minutes not to mention being baked afterwards.
    meh.

    Skip the topping...and maybe the kids will eat it.

    I do love Emerils recipe books and restaurant...I just happened to trip on a couple of recipes that would be better left unpublished.

    I made this with for 4 kids. A 3 and 4 year old and a 9 and 11 year old and they all loved it. In fact now they want me to make it every time I babysit!!
