I think theres some sort of disconnect here. That is -- Why is the recipe called 'Kicked-Up Mac and Cheese' when #1 it does not have any MAC in it only Tater Tots?? and #2 there's no kick? I would not call an unidentified amount of white pepper and salt kicked-up. I don't even think this is Emerils recipe. I didn't think it was worth cooking.

Gosh I hate to post two bad ratings in a row..but yesterday we made this receipe plus Emerils Easy Oven Ribs.
This Mac and Cheese recipe was nothing extrordinary.
I would suggest cutting the time in half for boiling of noodles.
They were mushy after 10 minutes not to mention being baked afterwards.
meh.
Skip the topping...and maybe the kids will eat it.
I do love Emerils recipe books and restaurant...I just happened to trip on a couple of recipes that would be better left unpublished.

I made this with for 4 kids. A 3 and 4 year old and a 9 and 11 year old and they all loved it. In fact now they want me to make it every time I babysit!!

Some recipes do not need to be kicked up. This was not good at all. What's shameful is that he made this for school children.
