Whole family loved it. The vodka was just right. I think if you are tasting a strong vodka after taste, just cook a little longer. This is a make again dish in my group.

I used 2qts of my sauce with extra basil and garlic instead of the tomatoes as the recipe called for and doubled the pancetta and it still wasn't enough to kill the strong vodka aftertaste. It had great flavor if you could get beyond the vodka. Next time, I'll halve the vodka and hope for a better result.

I love trying different pasta sauce recipes, and this one was really nice. I agree that the vodka has to be used judiciously. I found a really nice recipe online with picture that you might like to try. Check it out!

I made this recipe using one 28 ounce can of crushed tomatoes. I saw the recipe says 14 ounce can, but I have never seen that size can. And, I saw that a lot of people said the vodka was overpowering and that the recipe was very spicy.

So, I followed the recipe exactly except with 28 ounces of tomatoes and it came out great!!!

The vodka was too strong for my taste. I added more tomatoes and cooked it longer just to weaken the vodka taste. If I ever make this again I would cut the vodka by half. Other than that, the sauce would have been delicious with out it.

I made this for dinner tonight and it was an absolute home run. I read the user reviews and made a few adjustments - I used about 2/3 cup of vodka, instead of the full cup the recipe calls for. After adding the vodka I also cooked the sauce for about 7-8 minutes, instead of the 4 the recipe calls for. Basically I just tasted until the vodka taste was less overwhelming. I also used about 3/4 cup of cream instead of a full cup. I can not rave about this sauce enough.

I made this last night for a dinner party and everyone LOVED IT! I made it with Rigatoni and would make two additional changes next time. I would add 1/2 the amount of basil since it is so strong. Also, I used 4 slies of bacon and would probably 5 or 6 next time. Overall, GREAT recipe!

Have you ever had anyone hype up a movie so much that when you went to see it, you just thought...what? That's it?
Ugh...I guess I read too many reviews.
I made this for our 8th wedding anniversary thinking that it would be nice to try out a new recipe from the BAM man that got a five star rating.
I personally thought it was pretty bland. However the crushed pepper did come through to make it a little spicy, but other that that, I didn't pick up on any of the other flavors.
It was a bit of a tease because the smells were wonderful while I was cooking it. I also think I would've preferred it to be a little thicker consistancy. I didn't make my own noodles. To substitute I use No yolk broad noodles. Everything else was followed to a T.
I personally will not be making this again. :(
