This pie was easy to make and had a great real lemon taste, it was not overly sweet. Just right. Instead of Emeril's crust, I used a graham cracker crust, the filling worked just fine with this crust too. I even skipped the Lemonciello.

I made this for a change of pace for Thanksgiving. Everyone LOVED it. So much so I'll now be making four for Christmas.

The Lemoncello made the pies. Don't pas on it. You can find it at Trader Joes as well as the grocery store.

Have all the ingredients laid out to make it easier on yourself. I used store bought crust and it was still great.

I made this pie last night and was a little worried it wouldn't set right because of the Ingredients, but to my surprise it turn out wonderful. I had no idea what limoncello was. looked all over the store until one of the clerks watched food net work (what a Coincidence and new where it was at. If you don't know what or where to look for it, its in the Alcohol section. this was the only down side to this recipe is the alcohol cost me $18.00 dollars for only 1 1/2 tablespoons used in the recipe LOL. Any way I'm sure I'll find some use for the left over liquor, either that or I'll be making a lot of pies. I also used my grandmothers pie crust recipe &

I made this pie for Thanksgiving at my boyfriend's house and again the next day for my own parents. I am a complete newie to this, I have never made meringue or a pie crust ( I somehow ended up with too much butter in the first crust and had to bake it twice as long but it was still ok I was a bit overwhelmed at when I started but didn't find it difficult at all. I did what someone else suggested and had everything ready to go when I started the filling. I didn't have any limoncella but it came out great anyway. Everyone loved it.
I wasn't sure how many lemons I would need for the zest and the juice so I bought a bunch. I only needed two large lemons to get enough zest and topped some of the juice up with the bottled stuff.
This recipe is definitely a keeper.

This pie is absolutely the best! I took this for the 4th of July picnic, and everyone raved about it. Not too difficult to make. I would probably make the pie crust dough the day before next time, and I would use the 2 extra egg whites for additional meringue. I did brown it in the oven and it was fine. I will definitely use the pie crust recipe for every pie I make - it's absolutely the flakiest pie crust I've ever made.

The flavor of the lemon custard was wonderful but I could not get it to set. I will give it another try.

this was my first lemon merinque pie. it was very surprising to make. it was neat to watch the lemon part of the pie get thick. some advice. simmer means cook it high enough to the point of right before bubblying. dont let flame to get high or you will burn the bottom and have brown stuff in your lemon pie. and some reason i thought the merinque would be hard to make . it was actually really simple and fun to watch transform into meringue. advice , dont worry that the meringue isnt set enough . it will set more if you put it in the oven highest shelf for 10 to 15 mins. this way it will set and get a beautiful brown color to the merengue , but make sure you use the back of the spoon to make the meringue decorations. other advice make sure yo u have the lemons shaved to the exact amount, and the lemon juice squeezed out of each lemon before you start to cook and make sure the confectioner sugar is measured out. this way you can dump the ingreadiants when its time to since its important to keep wisking the lemon cooking on the stove. unless you are an octopuss or have help. anyways... this is a great recipie. i love it . i even made a video for you tube. do a search under emeril s name and lemon merinque pie ! i was so excited by the way it turned out . beautiful. wait till you see what it looks like !! and tastes like you will be in heaven!!
