I followed the recipe as written. The only thing that I changed was the type of sugar. I used turbinado sugar which is darker and has a bit of molasses. But I have made sorbets with this type of sugar before and not had a problem. The mixture was very thick. After it chilled completely I added it to my ice cream maker and got nowhere. I have a good tasting chocolate syrup, not sorbet. I will not be using this recipe again.

way, way too spicy. i followed the recipe exactly and was very disappointed with the outcome. the cayenne pepper drives the taste, in fact you can't even tell that it is supposed to be chocolate sorbet! i will try again, next time with just a pinch of the pepper. i love chocolate and i love spice, unfortunately it is barely edible and i will be throwing away this batch of sorbet.
