Very good! Added a bit of rosemary and honey in the marinade and made a horseradish sauce to go along side.

Although I haven't made the steak sauce, I have made the marinade for almost 2 years, and it is by far the best go to recipe for flank steak. My husband and twin boys, aged 10, LOVE it when they know Mom is grilling flank steak for dinner! It goes well with what we call "camp potatoes"....sliced golden potatoes, butter, onion, salt and pepper, wrapped in foil and grilled for about 30 minutes. LOVE this recipe! Thanks Emeril!

I'm perplexed by the few bad ratings. Taste is everything. If the marinade tastes too vinegary, add more wine, olive oil or other liquid. Even beef stock. Sorry that good recipes are trashed by inexperienced cooks. Personally I use more wine than vinegar although my husband loves this recipe as is. Remember, recipes are guides, not rules.

The marinade is wonderful! I actually use this to marinate pork chops more that I do london broil, and I have been asked for the recipe numerous times. As far as the previous review about the vinegar amount...have you ever made a marinade? Do you know how to measure? This is perfect!

NO STARS. I don't know quite where to start with this review. Please let me say it is my first review of any recipe on FTV even though I have been a fan for many years.
I usually have no problem w/ steak or any other protein/heat combo. HOWEVER it is impossible to write a real review here. LSS...this rcp is crp nd i wl nvr trst eml agn nor shld u. The amount of vinegar ust kills the meat...what was i thinking...no way ANYONE tested this....makes beef into showleather. EMRIL SUCKS for not doing the basics

The steak turned out delicious. I did not make the steak sauce because it seemed complicated and time-consuming, and honestly the steak was good without it. Maybe I don't know what I'm missing and will try it next time. But the marinade for the steak was awesome.

This is delicious. After using Emerils essence the first time in this recipe, we've been using it quite frequently. Our favorite is to rub pork lion with the essence, cook it in the crock pot on low for about 8 to 10 hours, shred it and then eat it on rolls. BBQ sauce not required.

I used a marinade from Epicurious but using Emeril's broiling instructions.
First time tri-tip cooker but the broiling instructions are absolutely perfect.

I'd say if you find another marinade and don't have a BBQ use these directions. Excuse me while I go swoon.

The steak sauce is to die for. I couldn't keep the spoon out of it after I made it. This entire recipe is definitely a keeper.
