This a very delicious soup. It is hardy without being too heavy. The meatballs are very light and flavorful. I do add more beef broth to get more volume. I serve it as a meal itself with really good asiago garlic bread. I have made the recipes omitting the meatballs and used cheese tortellini instead.

I have made this several times and it's always such a comforting soup.
Be careful once you add the pasta making sure you stir gently and frequently to prevent sticking.
I like to add more flavoring to the meatballs. I sauteed a little bit of onion and let it cool before adding to the meatball mixture, some fresh parsley worcestershire sauce, ketchup and a little spicy mustard.

My mouth is watering just thinking about this soup! Per other reviewers, I added 1/2 cup chopped carrot and 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, and used more beef broth since we prefer lots of broth. Made the meatballs "jawbreaker" size (approx 3/4" diam, and cooked the noodles separately so we could add them to individual bowls and not have the broth become too starchy or the noodles absorb the broth as it sat. Love the spinach in the soup - add a loaf of crusty bread and you have a great meal.

Excellent! My entire family loves it. Will definitely make this again. (I added extra broth for more "soup". Unfortunately, we don't have the spinach where I live, but was very good without it.

This soup is one of the best soups I have ever eaten! The flavors are excellent. I added carrots, left out the celery and I used both beef and chicken stock. I served it with French bread and it immediately became a new favorite in my house. I have some picky eaters, and there were no leftovers for the first time in a long time! This is a keeper:

Amazing flavor...made my own Italian Seasoning and took another reviewers advice and added carrot and leek. Also cooked the pasta (Orzo first and added it al dente to the soup. There was nothing left from a family of five's Thursday dinner. Next time I will double the recipe!

Really great soup for Winter night.
Take the time and make the meatballs because it's worth it.
Add extra broth and cook the pasta in the soup because the noodles taste so much better.
Carrots are a nice addition to this soup as well.

I have made this soup at least 6 times, it is dinner for our annual family pumpkin carving contest. The only changes I have made are to cook the pasta on its own, other wise it soaks up too much of the soup broth. Great recipe.

Comfort food on a cold day. I have made this over and over. All ages love this hearty meaty pasta soup. I like to put extra spinach in it.
