You can create up to five timers

Ingredients

  • 1 cantaloupe, seeded, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 3/4 to 1 cup granulated sugar, to taste
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 cup finely diced pineapple

Directions

In a blender, combine the cantaloupe and sugar, puree until smooth and pour into a 3-quart pitcher with the water and pineapple. Stir well to combine, making sure that the sugar is completely dissolved, and serve in tall glasses filled with ice.

    @the other reviewer...the pineapple could be blended in, but the 2 flavors (who are each very strong on their own would overwhelm each other...I think the pineapple is there more for effect than flavor.

    It's a wonderfully refreshing drink, but to be considered a true Agua Fresca, the pulp of the fruit should be strained out, and more water added than what is listed in the recipe. What Emeril has listed is more of a fruit smoothie than an agua fresca, but it is very refreshing regardless.

    I haven't made this. I'm rating the recipe based on the directions vs the actual show.
    First, Emeril put the melon AND the pineapple in the blender. He didn't add and leave the pineapple chunks in the drink later. How awful would that be!
    Second, he added the water to the blender to help blend the fruit!
    It's no wonder some of these recipes get such poor reviews - people don't have an opportunity to make it properly to begin with!
