Cooking the meringues this way will only work if you have an electric oven. I have a gas oven and when I turned it off after putting the meringues in (as stated in the recipe the oven cooled off so quickly that the meringues began deflating into puddles instead of firming up. I tried turning the oven on again, but too much damage had been done.

Great meringues! I have tried so many recipes to make the perfect meringues & these came out great! The recipe made about 15. I used them in the dessert Eton Mess, yum!

Easy, but of course I have messed them up over beating. I added coconut to a batch and what a combination. I use mini dark chips, walnuts and coconut. Had to find something to do with the egg whites after making creme brulee

Excellant and easy. I made a 2nd batch and substituted a 1/2 C. finely crushed peppermint candy canes. What a wonderful Christmas gift. Great way to use leftover egg whites from making a creme pie

These were SO awesome! I halved the recipe so I could make 1/2 mint chocolate chip and 1/2 regular, and I messed the first batch up - I had never beaten egg whites before, and as soon as I saw bubbles I thought it was "foamy" so they came out a little flat. But the second batch was perfect. I used green food coloring because that was what my grandma used to do, because they were mint. I ended up liking the regular chocolate chip ones better. Very fun, easy and delicious recipe! :

This was my first meringue cookies recipe and I will never look for another recipe! The walnuts and chocolate go perfectly together. All of my friends and family loved these.

Love these cookies. I first had them when I moved to Texas in the 1980 and have loved them ever since. It's best to leave them overnight in the oven. Thanks Emeril for bringing back a classic!

Fabulous!!! I made these for a bake sale at my local Children's Hospital - they sold out in minutes and people in other departments were calling for them! Also, I was asked for the recipe, so I'm sold. They really are delicious and so easy to make. These cookies will go in the permanent file!
