I have made the rub 4 times, it is easy and works great on all meat, poultry, and pork.

Ruined 5 lbs ribs using the rub recipe. Ribs smelled great but the high sodium content killed the taste. Should have done the math--the proportion of salt to the total rub recipe was way off: salt was 1/4 of the total rub recipe! That should have been my clue. Who knows -- maybe there were typos in the printed measurements. The bbq sauce was good though.

These were great ribs, with great sauce, and the rub is not hard to make though next time I am cutting back on the salt. With all those ingredients, the salt was by far the most evident.

I didn't have a smoker, but we used the rub and baked them 5 1/2 hours in 250 degree F oven. Falling off the bone and flavor in every bite. Best ribs I've had in a long time. Can't wait to try the rest tomorrow with the sauce.
