This was my first time making or eating these. I used only beef, which may have taken away extra flavor that I think this needs. Next time, I will do a beef/sausage mix and/or add some extra spice. They need some chili powder, cayenne pepper, or maybe just some seasoned diced tomatoes like other reviewers mention. I wanted to try it without these changes the first time around to see for myself. I did add mozzerella and parmesan to the tops while they baked. That was a nice addition.

I made these for my boyfriend who said his Mother used to make them for him. I had never made/eaten them before.

I used wild rice instead of white which gave the peppers an awesome texture. I think next time I will use a can of small diced tomatoes in addition to the tomato sauce.

Wonderful! Used Brown rice cooked in chicken stock, and used ground turkey sausage. Also added ancho chile powder in the filling.

I thought it was very good, but I wanted to throw something else in. I looked around and (I'm a greenhorn at cooking so I grabbed some corriander 1 tsp (not even knowing what you really use this for haha - yes..I'm a male. I also put the red sauce you put in Pho? The Red Hot Chili Sauce (generous, about 4 tbsp fresh cilantro about 1 tbsp, and a couple dashes of red pepper spice. HOLY SMOKES was it good. It just seemed to burst with flavors.

The only down side to the recipe was that I ate more than I intended. I TOTALLY get now why the best cooks are typically obese. Geese, what is that word, self discipline? :

In the end, I humbly give myself the 5th star :

Looking for a better bell recipe and this had great reviews.I did use dry parsley flakes instead of fresh, 2 pounds of 93% ground beef instead of beef/pork and spaghetti sauce instead of tomato sauce. Then after cooking for approx 30 minutes, added a bit more sauce and mozarella cheese on top and baked for another 10 minutes. Absolutely wonderful!! Thank you! I had never precooked the bell peppers before, nor the filling - much better this way!

I substituted 2 cups chopped fresh spinach for the chopped peppers and sauteed with the onions. Excellent. Also, ground turkey vs. beef and pork.

Made this for dinner tonight: Yum! Had major substitutes though:

*minced chicken - not the above meats
    *red quinoa - not rice
*cayenne pepper - not pepper flakes
*red & yellow bell peppers for cups - not green bell peppers
*canned spaghetti sauce (four cheeses - not tomato sauce
*ADDED Italian seasoning, corn, and peas! :

Did not add chopped up bell peppers nor parsely to stuffing.

Anyways!! Great recipe guide for someone who has NEVER had stuffed bell peppers!! :D Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Great recipe! I made a few changes:
1lb of of spicy ground sausage instead of beef or pork. I chopped up a cup of red pepper instead of green pepper and I added 2tsp of red chili powder, spicy and delicious!!! I also used brown rice to make it healthier!
