I made it for breakfast and my family including the toddlers enjoyed it. It is nice to see some breakfast shows, because I do need more variety when it comes to breakfast.

This cake is quite versatile with the fruit toppings. I used blueberries and strawberries and worked really well; tasted great too!

After making this cake for the first time, I found the topping great; very crunchy and flavourful. It needed a little extra baking than the recipe allowed for (about 10 minutes more as the centre was still wobbly. Used frozen blueberries with no problem. Cake itself was rather dense, slightly dry. If I try again I might use a little cinnamon and vanilla in the batter.

Who ever Mr. Lou is he knew a good coffee cake. The end result of this recipe is not the usual "cake" texture in that the batter does not rise as one might expect. The final product had excellent taste, not too sweet, and recieved high approvals from all I served it to. I baked it a full 45 minutes and let it cool in the oven.
