I agree with all the other reviews, these are really great bars. I too substituted a few things, I used dried cherries instead of raisins and I added chocolate covered sunflower seeds. I also used chunky peanut butter instead of creamy. However, for those of you wondering about the calories...a rough estimate (based on my sub's is 455 calories and 20 grams of fat per bar! Having just made them, I'm going to be cutting my 10 squares in half!

Has anyone tried this without cornsyrup? Not crazy about using it as a sweetener. Would love to find a subsitute.

We love these! I made a lot of changes, though. We can't have nuts in our house, so I did exta seeds and coconut. Instead of the Peanut Butter we used Sunflower seed butter. Instead of raisins, I did dried cherries and raspberries. Oh, I also added some mini chocolate chips at the very end of the process. They turned out great!

Wow I can't even tell you how many times I have made this! I am completely obsessed with peanut butter so I searched the internet for a peanutbutter granola recipe.Let me tell you nothing compares with this one! I like to add different nuts every time I make this. I like to substitute cashews for the pumpkin seeds!

The bars didn't stick together and I ended up with very sweet peanut buttery granola.

The Recipe Summary indicated that this was an easy recipe. It was. It also indicated that prep time was 10 minutes and cook time was 35 minutes. Very misleading. That makes it sounds as though you did 10 minutes of preparation and then stuck it in the oven for 35 minutes. Not true! Much more complicated and time consuming! stirring the ingredients on the stove...watching the baked goods in the oven...stirring ingredients on the stove...letting ingredients cool completely...etc. I also think that you should have a rating for how messy a recipe is. Clean-up time for this recipe with all the pots and utensils needed was considerable.

This recipe was great. I've made it more then once. I use reduced fat peanut butter and cranberries instead of raisins. The only problem I keep having is getting the bars to stick. It usually ends up as a big pile of granola instead of bars. Doesn't matter to the kids, they still eat it all up.

This is amazing granola, I didn't add the raisins so it didn't harden very much but it was still very good!

The recipe was easier than I expected and they can easily be adapted to taste. I skipped the raisins to suit my taste and I have tried them with cashew butter for a peanut free school snack.
