Ingredients

Directions

Sift the flour, sugar, and salt into a large bowl. Using your fingers, work in the butter and shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add 2 tablespoons of ice water and work with your fingers until the water is incorporated and the dough comes together. Add more water as needed to make a smooth dough, being careful not to over mix. Form the dough into a disk, wrap tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before using.

Not only is this a perfect crust recipe, the left over crust pieces make a perfect "cooks treat". Just combine the left over piects of crust and roll them out on to a cookie sheet. Then spred with a libral amount of softened butter and sprinkle with your favorite mixture of cinnamon sugar. Bake in a 350 oven for approx. 20-25 min. Remove from oven&cool ,then break apart and enjoy.

This recipe is very good but i have a better one. Much better texture, flaky, and will not sweat in the backing tin. To inprove this one use butter flavored shortening.
